The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has disclosed it plans on releasing and distributing the results of the just concluded West African Secondary school examination in 45 days.
The examination which was delayed from April to September because of the Covid-19 Outbreak. Well the examination ended on 12th of September 2020, nationwide.
The total number of candidates that registered for this year’s WAEC in Nigeria are 1,459,463. And the total number of subjects written where 76. And most of the student sat for at least 8 or at most 9 subject each, with compulsory Maths and English.
While WAEC commended all the stakeholders for playing by the rules guiding the conduct of the exam, he attributed the entire success to the Almighty God.
Mr. Demianus Okijeogu WAEC’s media head of public affairs, make it known in an exclusive interview they had over the weekend of the plan of WAEC to release the results within 45 days.
He said that had been the standards of WAEC in the recent years, especially for the school-based examination and the same plan still applicable for this year’s edition before the outbreak of COVID-19 and it subsequent postponement.
“So, certainly, we will still work towards achieving this 45 days time lag target,” he stressed.” he said.
Mr. Demianus also said the exam was a huge success nationwide. That both students and exam officials adhere strictly to Corona Virus safety measures rules in the exam venues throughout the examination period.
