It is worthy to note that Akwa Ibom State University suspended its studies few days ago due to the End SARS protest and curfew which was imposed in the state. To that note the registrar of the institution in person of John E Udo has make a press release concerning the forthcoming examination for 100L, 200L and 300L (of 500L). It read thus;
“Further to our press release of Thursday, October 22, 2020 suspending academic activities in Akwa Ibom State University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nse U. Essien, has further directed that, in order to monitor the situation in the country and also to prevent any sudden eruption of crisis in our campuses, the following lines of action should be taken:
1. All examinations scheduled to hold within the week beginning October 26, 2020 are hereby shifted by one week. Examinations will continue on Monday, November 02, 2020.
2. All other academic activities scheduled for the said period are also postponed.
3. However, all administrative work will resume including the meetings of the Appointments & Promotions Committee(Senior Admin. & Technical Staff) scheduled for Tuesday, October 27 and Senate scheduled for October 28, 2020 as well as all other activities which do not involve a gathering of students.
It should please be noted that the above-stated measures are taken in the interest of the security of the lives of our students.
Students are, therefore, advised to use this opportunity to revise for their examinations. They should avoid violence and participating in any illegal activities.
The Chief Security Officer of the University is hereby directed to ensure maximum security of lives and property in all the campuses of the University.
